We have a question for the reporter, Dane Plako
CHICAGO—Started by Judge Aurelia Pucinski, the “Charitable Jean Program” in the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office is a completely voluntary, legally compliant and ethical program that serves charitable, benevolent, and employee morale purposes. That is without question.
What is questionable is the motivation of Dane Plako of Fox News, who did not even mention that the charitable jean program was started by Judge Aurelia Pucinski, even though he’s aware of that fact. What is also questionable is that Dane Plako did not even bother to mention the organizations that have received donations from this program.
Is it simply that Dane Placko, like the employees that he used, are simply pawns in the hands of Clerk Brown’s opponents who do not want to see the change that will come with her election as President of the Cook County Board? This is a charitable benefit that has been in place for a number of years, but isn’t it curious that only 14 days before the election day, that these employees would become concerned.
Dane Plako’s lopsided story is yellow journalism at its height.
This is not about Jeans Day. This is about Dorothy Brown being the biggest challenge to disrupting politics as usual. Dorothy Brown has never been a part of the machine. Dorothy Brown is an independent who not only thinks outside the box but creates a new box.
Clerk’s employees choose to participate in Jeans Days so they can engage in acts of charity, benevolence, employee morale programs.
We know that FOX news is not a fan of Dorothy Brown and they love to make controversy where there is none, but we ask that Dane Plako demonstrate some of the ethics that he reports.
